parallelism, so when I translate the first chapter to Chinese, I make use of parallelism. I take good advantages of parallelism and figure of speech. Compared the translation with 王佐良, the structure of mine is much more better than his. The main meaning is the same with me , but his
poem doesn’t like Chinese poem . It is lack of Chinese poem’s
components, including figure of speech, parallelism, rhyme, etc.
At the second chapter, the author shows his deep feeling to his lover. The last sentence “and I will luve thee still ,my dear ,Till a’ the seas gang dry” is similar to a famous Chinese poem “山无棱，天地合，乃敢于君决”。Both of them give us an expression that the author completely falls in love with his lover, they won’t break up whatever will happen. When I translate those sentences , I directly quote “山无棱，天地合，乃敢于君决”. I think it is more easy and direct to show out the feeling. In王佐良’s version , we can see he used metaphase to translate it , while I use free translation to do my work. Maybe free translation will may readers feel more comfortable.
At the third chapter, author made fully use of metaphor to describe his love. The last chapter is a fare well speech, which explained author’s love to his lover and claimed that he won’t leave her wherever they were.
Generally speaking, I mostly use free translation to do my work, I try to make it concise, rhyme, and suit to Chinese thought. We should not only pay attention to the structure, but also the sentences and words.
